Michael is one of the main characters who appeared in the Barney & The Backyard Gang video series, as well the first two seasons of Barney & Friends. Michael is Amy's older brother. He was portrayed by Brian Eppes.

- Michael was originally named Billy in the first draft of Barney & the Backyard Gang.
- Michael is technically the first human main character to appear in Barney & Friends.
- Although Michael didn't appear in the season 3 episode, "On The Move", he made a picture cameo in the memory book.
- Michael is the only Backyard Gang member to make an appearance after the first generation of Barney and Friends, and the only one to be seen in the treehouse.
- Michael never appeared with David (played by Kenny Cooper).
